The words

The whole concept of this game is cool. Control a robot runner as it navigates its way through a series of obstacle courses. You’ll need skills for this and fortunately the app starts off with a 16 screen training mission for the 10 things you’ll need to know: run, jump, double, climb, boost… All these things are needed to time jumps, dodge falling blocks and crushing roofs.

The game runs fast, extremely fast, I mean really fast, you need lightening reflexes…. like a cheetah! If you fail, you’re just sent back to the beginning and hope you remember where you cocked up and not make the same mistake twice.

Two of the best features during your run are using the flip (useful when you faceplant against the side of platform and need a little boost to make it to the top) and the ‘Transform’ (a stop, drop and roll function for getting under tight squeezes).

The feeling on this game however is that its a near hit, but not a bulls eye. For example, some of the graphics are cool and atmospheric to the overall feel (see picture 2 page top), while others look like they’re retro (see picture 3), and not in a good way.

Also, its a robot race… where are the other bloody robots? If you’re going to crash and restart again, at least have others crashing and restarting again too… have times clocked and a in-game leaderboard. It’s just missing that little bit of tension.

This is not to say the whole game is a bust. Its a nice platform that could do with some smarting up and added drama. If you like challenging yourself, then, hey, this is spot-on… intrinsically driven I never was.

Usually costing $0.99 its going FREE right now, so its more than worth a download. I’m hoping more features will be added soon to give it a little more spice as this has the makings of a great app… at the moment, its a good app.
