The words

I frankly think that we are very seasoned to alarm clocks and reminder apps and software. They no longer work very well on us because all they do is beep annoyingly to remind us to get up, do something, *insert yet another task to fulfill here*. You get the picture.

What we really need, is something that can tell us the value of each action. Something that reminds us that every task we do attributes to some part of our life and balances our priorities.

From how I see it, the Life Assistant app is the closest to being our conscience alarm. When you enter each task, it has a function which allows you to categorize it according to a ‘factor of life’, be it ‘Love’, ‘Health’, ‘Family’, ‘Work’ and so on. You are allowed to create different factors that apply to you accordingly.

So, while it acts as a to-do list that will remind you of your day-to-day tasks, it also documents the type of tasks you are doing. Let’s say, at the end of each week, you can look at your achievements and the chart will tell you if you have been spending way too much time with Work-related stuff, and neglecting the ‘Love’ factor in your life.

The use of icons make the entire process more fun, and you can create your own icons for each factor. If you want, you can also activate a motivational quote to appear on the screen every time you open the app.

In short, this app tries very hard to be your cheerleader and mother.

I would recommend this app to people like my best friend, who can get so submerged in daily activities that she literally forgets to address other equally important events in her life. I’m pretty sure there are many out there that are the same – not that it’s a bad thing, because Life Assistant wouldn’t have been born if not for forgetful folks like them!

Now, we just need an app to remind them to put reminders into the Life Assistant… Any takers?
