Shy Breaker brings a new type of GPS-enabled social networking to iPhone

A rejection-free way to reach out to the cutie you were too shy, or too sober, to say hi to via an anonymous GPS-based messaging system. Other users (like the cutie) can read your notes and reply to them.

The words

OK networking freaks, heres a new spin for you:

Shy Breaker brings a new type of GPS-enabled social networking to iPhone, allowing users to drop anonymous notes anytime, anywhere. Only your username is revealed so your identity is as private as you want it to be. All notes left on the map are freely readable by all Shy Breaker users who can then contact each other through a posted note and start a private in-box based dialogue.

So who would make an app such as this and what for whom and where or why? Creator Steve “StevieSpin” Lunny, rather honestly, explains:

“I essentially created an app I personally need. I have no game. I never approach someone I might want to talk to and generally freeze up if I am approached. Shy Breaker gives people, who missed that first shot at connecting, a second chance.”

Will this work?… who knows… do I hope it works?… yes I do. Although it may need a humanwave of users (which may not happen in a paid incarnation) to be of optimum value, it is a promising idea.
