How deep in the ocean do you think you can take Bubby and Paul?

Help Bubby catch all the falling bubbles with the help of his best buddy, Paul the Octopus.

If Bubby misses an object, a fast move with Paul will make it start bouncing all over the stage, giving Bubby another chance to catch it.

Piranhas will also help Bubby by eating objects stacked over his head. Some bubbles will give Bubby extra lives so try not to miss them!

Also you need to watch out for threatening barrels that evil boats are dropping on Bubby’s world!

THE DETAILS

The words

Bubby, looking like a cross between a Japaneses childrens TV show character and Pocoyo from Spanish TV, sits at the bottom of the sea on top of his octopus (Paul) collecting bubbles. He moves from side to side with a device tilt, and a screen touch allows Paul to spin his tentacles to stop any falling bubbles from hitting the ground.

Bubbles, crabs and fish pile on top of Bubbys head and eventually pop or are eaten by said crustacean. The only other point of interest are passing ships that drop down barrels… its all a bit one dimensional.

The action never really raises above that. The graphics lack depth (pun!) and fail to appeal. This game might excite a young child, but with the controls as they are, they don’t really seem suitable.

The one bright spot is the developers actually managed to do what a lot of apps don’t i.e get a nice balance between the suitability of the music and SFX.
