Mystic Emporium by 99Games Online

That is how it works in Mystic Emporium!

Take over a musty old magic shop located in the enchanting world of wizardry! This is no ordinary shop, for you’ll meet witches, vampires, wizards and ogres, all in a day’s work. Give them what they need and you’ll be generously rewarded!

The words

Taking charge of Lilly the witch in a potion making shop, you must rush against the clock in brewing up customers orders… eye of newt, toe of frog etc.

The whole thing starts of simple enough, with only a couple of potions in stock that require little mixing and cooking. The game actually progresses along nicely until you have a chock-filled recipe book, a whole raft of ingredients available and 3 cooking fires on the go.

This genre has so many variations out there and they all follow the same path. If you’re a fan of time management the things you should be looking for are controls, graphics and difficulty.

Mystic Emporium runs smooth and like most other similar games you are allowed to carry two items at once. Those apps that don’t allow you to do so are duds. The command motions are swift enough and you can link a long chain together without the game losing its place.

The graphics are cute and well done. The whole package fits nicely and some of the customer animations add a more little spice to the game beyond what is usual in these types of games. Its nice to see one that’s actually moved away from a heavily styles Japanese design i.e. big eyes, hearts, Archie comic colourings.

The difficulty is fine although we wished there were more levels. I’m not such a great user of time management games and it’s the reason I maybe get handed them to review! (Smart lad – Editor) I did however play this with a heavy user of this genre and they whipped through it in a weekend. I must say though, they played for hours at a time, so all in all the game would last a long time if you don’t ripped through it in heavy game playing sessions. It’s also important to note (as a balance against my comment) that this app is regularly updated by the developers, so you know there’s always more to come!

99Games Online seems to be producing great games, ones you can trust will be worth the moolha you drop on them. The game concepts might not be ground breaking, but you can expect great quality graphics, buyers satisfaction, regular updates and most importantly, an app that works through some serious stress tests without crashing.
