NEWS: The Dr Suess Library Is Growing
Posted on 26. Jul, 2010 by AppVader in Info, News
Last week Oceanhouse Media came out with two more Dr Suess books, adding to their already impressive list of classics.
This time they have released one of the most famous Dr Suess books, ‘Green Eggs and Ham’, as well as ‘Gertrude McFuzz‘ (a great tale about a tail… had little sleep last night, that’s the best I can come up with).
These latest titles show Oceanhouse Media continuing with what they do best (check out our original review of The Cat In The Hat).
The books have these features:
* “Read to Me” — listen to the narrated story with words highlighted as they are read
* “Read it Myself” — read the book in its traditional form
* “Auto Play” — plays like a movie, automatically reading and turning pages.
* Picture / Word association — words zoom up and are spoken when pictures are touched
* Professional audio narration
* Custom background audio for each scene
I hope in future editions Oceanhouse adds a feature that allows you to record your own voice reading the book… great for parents who are on the road a lot!
Dr Suess is one of the greatest writers in English literature…and if you don’t believe me, try and write a book that captures a 5 year olds attention for 15 minutes using only a few words! I was a teacher for many years and I can tell you that no other author, past or present, has the ability to captivate a classroom like the Doctor did.
Apps come, apps go, but you get a Dr Suess on your iPad (or iPhone) and it’ll never leave.

The Doctor has spoken!
